Key Responsibilities Develop, enhance, and maintain firmware for existing IoT products, ensuring reliability, performance, and scalability. Perform software testing, validation, debugging, and troubleshooting to identify and resolve technical issues efficiently. Write high-quality, maintainable, and well-documented code in accordance with industry best practices and coding standards. Investigate and resolve software defects across development, testing, and production environments to ensure stable product performance. Prepare and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including system architecture, design specifications, test reports, and deployment procedures. Collaborate closely with hardware engineers and cross-functional teams throughout the product development lifecycle to ensure seamless hardware-software integration. Participate in product design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for product quality and development processes. Support product releases, firmware upgrades, and post-deployment issue resolution to enhance customer experience and product reliability. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline. Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in low-power MCU embedded software/firmware development. Solid experience with wireless communication technologies and protocols, including LoRaWAN, Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), Wi-Fi, and LTE . Proven experience collaborating with external vendors, partners, or development teams on mobile application and cloud platform integration projects. Good understanding of electronic hardware design, schematics, and hardware-software integration. Experience in smart sensing, IoT, or sensor-based technologies is an advantage. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex embedded systems. Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional environments. Proficient in both written and spoken English and Chinese . Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully.
