About the role We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Game Developer Intern to join our dynamic team at Gempak Games Sdn. Bhd. in Mid Valley City, Kuala Lumpur. As a Game Developer Intern, you will play a crucial role in the development of our cutting-edge mobile games, contributing to the creation of engaging and innovative gaming experiences. What you'll be doing Collaborate with the development team to design, prototype, and implement gameplay mechanics using Unity and C# Develop and integrate game assets , such as 3D assets, animations, VFX, and sound effects, into the game engine Translate UI/UX designs from the design team into functional, polished in-game UI components Import and integrate 3D models, textures, and animations from the art team into the Unity engine Implement and fine-tune visual effects (VFX) using third-party libraries and custom shaders in coordination with the VFX team Troubleshoot and debug code to ensure a seamless gaming experience Participate in playtesting and gathering user feedback to refine and improve the game Participate in game design discussions , contributing ideas on gameplay, progression, and player experience Work closely with marketing to prepare demo builds, trailers, and showcase features for launch and promotional events Troubleshoot, profile, and debug gameplay features to maintain smooth performance Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in the gaming industry What we're looking for Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Game Design or a related field Proficient in Unity and familiar with C# scripting for gameplay development Familiarity with C# programming language Ability to translate wireframes or mockups into functional UI within Unity’s UI system (Canvas, Layouts, Events) Solid understanding of game design principles and a keen eye for detail Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills Passionate about game development with a strong desire to create fun, polished player experiences Bonus: Prior knowledge of the Unity Particle System to help create stunning visual effects (good to have, but not mandatory).
