Guidance Officer / Senior Guidance Officer

Work Location Boon Lay, Singapore Working Hours Please note that Melrose Home is a 24-hour residential care facility operating seven days a week. Guidance Officers are required to work on a rotating shift roster, including weekends and public holidays. 5-day work week with 2 rotational off days AM Shift: 7:00am – 4:00pm PM Shift: 1:00pm – 10:00pm (majority of shifts) Duties and Responsibilities Provide quality care, supervision and guidance to children and youths (aged 7–21), supporting their daily living, development and well-being in Melrose Home. Resident Care and Behavioural Support Provide day-to-day supervision, guidance, and support to children and youths in a residential care setting. Guide residents in developing appropriate and socially acceptable behaviours while respecting their own rights and the rights of others, in accordance with sound behaviour management principles. Support residents in adhering to the Home's routines and behaviour management framework, which sets out clear rules, expectations, and guidelines for respectful interactions with others. Build positive relationships with residents and support their social, emotional, and personal development. Manage behavioural and emotional challenges in a calm, consistent, and professional manner using a trauma-informed approach. Motivate and mentor residents in supporting their personal growth and development. Health and Hygiene Guide and support the residents in maintaining a clean living environment (dormitory). Educate and reinforce good personal hygiene standards and practices among residents. Monitor and attend to residents' health and medical needs. Safety and Crisis Management Conduct regular checks to ensure the safety and wellbeing of residents. Respond appropriately to incidents, emergencies, and crisis situations when required. Academic and Cognitive Development Support residents in their academic needs and school-related matters. Assist in planning and facilitating program that promote residents' growth, independence, and life skills. Integrated Care Plans Work closely with Caseworkers and the multidisciplinary team to support residents' integrated care plans through the curated programmes or day to day activities. Maintain accurate records and provide updates on residents' progress and wellbeing. Undertake any other duties assigned by the Unit Leader and/or Manager, Residential Care. Job Requirements Minimum O Level qualification or equivalent. Able to work on a rotating shift roster, including weekends and public holidays. Prior experience working with children and/or youths is preferred but not essential. We welcome candidates with a genuine passion for supporting children and youths.
