Pastoral Team Member - Wesley Glowing Years Ministry

About the role Glowing Years Ministry (GYM) cares for and disciples the seniors of Wesley Methodist Church, walking alongside them through this season of life. We are looking for someone who senses a calling to serve our older members with compassion, presence, and pastoral care. Key responsibilities Report to GYM's Pastor and work with the GYM Committee to steer, direct, and grow the ministry in line with the Church's strategic direction Work closely with GYM's Chairperson and Committee to plan and execute programmes, activities, and events Support GYM's sub ministries and volunteers Guide GYM's Executive staff in the administration of the ministry Serve as part of the Pastoral Care Ministry (PCM) team, providing pastoral care to seniors in the Church Befriend seniors in the Church and encourage their participation in GYM's curriculum Conduct wake and funeral services Participate and contribute to WMC's staff meetings, training, weekly services, and events Perform other roles and responsibilities as assigned by GYM's Pastor and the Church. About you Theological training or relevant experience in pastoral or similar roles Background working in a church, nursing home, hospice, or parachurch organisation Hands on pastoral care experience, including visiting the sick and dying, walking through bereavement, and caring for older persons Strong planning and coordination skills, with a natural ability to relate to and work with people
