About the role You will be a key cog of the cocoa beans sourcing team, responsible for the purchasing and logistic activities of cocoa beans within the APAC region. This function is an essential part of Barry Callebaut’s overall value chain – ensuring a consistent supply of cocoa beans to our manufacturing sites while considering cost, quality, delivery lead-time, etc. Together with the trading director, a buying and shipment plan is devised for each crop season within the APAC region and you are required to work collectively as a sourcing team to achieve these targets. You will also be required to link well with multiple internal stakeholders across countries from finance, operations and quality as well as develop cordial business relationships with key suppliers to achieve commercial excellence. The role is far from an individual role and requires a complete team effort to succeed. The team tasks need to be executed in a time-sensitive manner to achieve team KPIs such as EBIT and inventory targets. Key responsibilities Preparation and execution of commercial contracts ranging from pricing, quality, delivery terms, etc. Work with internal stakeholders to understand operational and supply issues to drive improvement with suppliers. Engage suppliers on performance review and quality claims, negotiate on settlement amounts and preparation of necessary paperwork. Monthly and adhoc reporting of KPIs. Identify opportunities to improve standard reports and dashboards and work with internal stakeholders to plan, implement and roll out these solutions. Identify key business challenges, pinpoint commercial process inefficiencies, propose and drive solutions, present such issues and opportunities to senior stakeholders. About you Analytics skills, be able to work with numbers and interpretation of them University degree, preferably business analytics or engineering Fluent in English Language, oral and written 2 years experience working with numbers, data, analytics. Fresh graduates welcomed. – in business background, computer science / finance Process automation experience, Coding (SQL, Python) skills a plus Excellent communication skills for different levels internal and external Experience in commodities preferred but not mandatory. Well versed in Excel, Power Pivot, VBA Able to illustrate data in a meaningful manner to stakeholders Understanding of the various functions within a manufacturing environment Understanding of basic trading terms Drive and desire to grow and succeed Communicate thoughts in a clear, concise and respectful manner Maintain the overview, be able to handle complex issues at the same time Be the go-to person for the team members who manage their own part of the trading activities, therefore be diplomatic Have a drive for performance without losing the bigger picture Be stress resistant, keep focus at all times Complete team player, able to accept and adapt to team’s strength and weaknesses and drive improvement in overall team performance Open to ideas and not shy to speak up when needed, across all levels in the organization Deal with multiple issues at the same time Self-reflection and able to accept constructive criticism
