Postdoctoral Fellow/Research Assistant (3 Posts) in the Department of Public and International Affairs (Appointment for 12 months with possibility of Extension) [Ref. T/142/26] Project A novel carbon MRV (monitoring, reporting and verification) data portal for better financed emissions accounting and ESG rating: demonstration in Hong Kong’s building sector Duties Conduct research and produce high quality research outputs relating to the calculation and data visualisation of carbon footprint of technologies and urban systems, and the urban policies simulation; Develop digital tool for carbon auditing; Assist the Principal Investigator in editing research works; Organise seminars and conferences, and other academic events; and Perform any other duties as assigned. Requirements A Bachelor’s degree or above in Urban Studies/Economics/Public Policy/Environmental Management/Data Science; Expertise at sustainability studies, in particular, master at least one expertise as following: life cycle assessment & carbon footprint; Urban economic model; agent-based model; urban planning tools like GIS; machine learning, LLM and block chain; Python or other programming language; Have relevant project experiences; Proficient English in both communication and academic writing; and Preference will be given to candidates with provision of published articles or working samples as justification of expertise, and whom with excellent language skills.
