Senior Manager, Student Information (Higher Education)

My client is looking for an experienced Senior Manager, Student Information Platform to lead the management, enhancement, and modernization of the institution's student information systems. This role is responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of the student information platform while supporting academic and administrative operations. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in higher education environments, strong technical expertise in MS SQL, and a proven track record in system upgrades, migration initiatives, and vendor management. Key Responsibilities Lead the management, administration, and continuous improvement of the Student Information Platform to support student lifecycle processes and institutional objectives. Drive system modernization initiatives, including migration from legacy systems and major platform upgrades, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations. Oversee system performance, data integrity, security, and availability of student information systems. Collaborate with academic, administrative, and IT stakeholders to gather requirements, prioritize enhancements, and implement solutions. Manage relationships with external vendors, consultants, and service providers to ensure successful project delivery and ongoing support. Lead troubleshooting and resolution of complex system and data-related issues. Develop and maintain governance, policies, procedures, and best practices related to student information systems. Utilize MS SQL expertise to support database management, reporting, data analysis, and system optimization. Manage project timelines, budgets, risks, and resources across multiple initiatives. Lead, mentor, and develop team members to ensure high service standards and operational excellence. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline. Minimum 10-12 years of relevant IT experience, including 5-6 years of hands-on experience managing Student Information Platforms within a higher education environment. Proven experience managing and supporting enterprise-level Student Information Systems. Strong technical expertise in Microsoft SQL Server (MS SQL), including database management, performance optimization, and reporting. Demonstrated experience leading legacy system migration and system upgrade/transformation projects. Solid experience working with and managing external vendors, system integrators, and software providers. Strong project management, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively. Fluent in Cantonese and English, both written and spoken.
