Merchandise Store Supervisor

Job Summary The Merchandise Store Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily store operations, ensuring excellent customer service, driving sales through upselling techniques, supervising and training staff, managing inventory accuracy, and maintaining efficient store systems and procedures. The role requires strong leadership, communication, and operational skills to ensure smooth store performance and customer satisfaction. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities 1. Customer Service & Sales Provide excellent customer service and ensure a positive shopping experience. Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback professionally. Assist customers with product recommendations and promote upselling opportunities. Drive sales performance by encouraging staff to meet sales targets and KPIs. Maintain strong product knowledge to support customers effectively. ________________________________________ 2. Staff Supervision & Training Supervise daily activities of store staff. Train new employees on store procedures, customer service standards, POS systems, and product knowledge. Conduct ongoing coaching and performance monitoring. Prepare staff schedules and ensure adequate manpower coverage. Motivate the team to maintain high performance and teamwork. ________________________________________ 3. Inventory Management Monitor stock levels and ensure inventory accuracy. Conduct regular stock counts and inventory audits. Trigger purchase orders or replenishment requests when stock reaches minimum levels. Coordinate with suppliers or purchasing teams for timely stock replenishment. Manage damaged, expired, or slow-moving inventory appropriately. ________________________________________ 4. Store Operations & System Management Operate and oversee POS/store management systems accurately. Ensure all transactions, stock movements, and reports are properly recorded in the system. Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and visual merchandising standards. Ensure compliance with company policies, SOPs, and safety regulations. Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports. ________________________________________ 5. Administrative & Reporting Duties Monitor sales performance and prepare performance reports. Assist management in implementing promotional campaigns and merchandising activities. Track store expenses and minimize operational losses. Support store opening and closing procedures. ________________________________________ Requirements Education Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Retail Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred. Experience Minimum 2–3 years of experience in retail operations or store supervision. Experience in merchandise, fashion, sports retail, or lifestyle retail is an advantage.
