General Manager

Job Summary The General Manager is responsible for leading the Company’s strategic direction, organisational performance, operational effectiveness, and sustainable growth. The role translates the Director’s vision into actionable plans, aligns all departments with the Company’s objectives, and ensures effective management of people, finances, resources, risks, and stakeholder relationships. Key Responsibilities 1. Strategic Leadership Develop and implement the Company’s short-term and long-term strategic plans. Identify opportunities for business growth, service development, operational improvement, and organisational sustainability. Provide strategic recommendations to the Director based on performance, market trends, and organisational needs. 2. Organisational Performance Translate strategic objectives into clear departmental targets, KPIs, and action plans. Monitor overall business and departmental performance and address gaps promptly. Lead department heads and ensure accountability, collaboration, and timely execution. Drive continuous improvement, innovation, and digital transformation across the Company. 3. Financial and Resource Management Oversee annual budgets, financial planning, expenditure, and resource allocation. Monitor financial and operational performance to support sustainability and growth. Recommend strategies for cost control, productivity improvement, and effective use of resources. 4. People and Leadership Development Work with HR on manpower planning, recruitment, performance management, talent development, and succession planning. Build a professional, accountable, collaborative, and results-driven management team. Ensure employees understand the Company’s direction, expectations, and performance standards. 5. Governance, Compliance and Risk Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, licences, internal policies, and reporting requirements. Identify and manage operational, financial, legal, safety, and reputational risks. Maintain effective internal controls and oversee audits, inspections, and corrective actions. 6. Stakeholder Management Build and maintain strong relationships with government authorities, business partners, clients, vendors, and other stakeholders. Represent the Company professionally in meetings, negotiations, and external engagements. Protect and strengthen the Company’s reputation and corporate interests. 7. Management Reporting Provide the Director with regular reports on performance, finance, manpower, projects, risks, and strategic priorities. Ensure management decisions and strategic initiatives are properly implemented and monitored. Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Management, Finance, Human Resource Management, or a related field. Minimum 8 to 10 years of relevant experience, including at least 3 to 5 years in a senior management or leadership role. Proven experience in strategic planning, multi-department management, financial oversight, and organisational development. Strong leadership, commercial awareness, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Able to manage multiple priorities and deliver results with minimal supervision. High integrity, professionalism, accountability, and confidentiality. Good command of English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin will be an added advantage. Proficient in Microsoft Office, reporting, and management systems. Working Conditions The position may require travel between operational locations and attendance at meetings or business activities outside normal working hours when necessary.
