Job title: Supply Chain & Sourcing Officer – Organic & Fair Trade Food (Hong Kong based) About us LS Food & Beverage Consulting is a Hong Kong-based trading agent specialising in certified organic and Fair Trade food products. We act as the Asian arm of our main client, a French food company, handling supplier relations and product development across China and the wider region. We are a small team. The person who has held this role for the past six years is moving on to new adventures, and we are looking for their successor. A full handover of ongoing files will take place at the start of the contract. The role You will be our sole representative in Hong Kong, working daily by email and video call with our teams in France. You will own the relationship with our Chinese suppliers, from production follow-up through to delivery in Europe, and act as our eyes and ears across Asia. What you will do Production follow-up — weekly monitoring of supplier production schedules, with one clear priority: no delays, and every order loaded on time. Logistics — manage exchanges with freight forwarders and carriers, select the most economical or fastest option depending on the need, and track actual loading dates and arrival dates in Europe. Inventory — monitor European stock levels through our in-house system and advise on order quantities. Packaging — follow up on packaging print runs with our printers in China. Reporting — weekly reporting on open supplier orders. Interpreting — live Mandarin–English interpreting during video calls with suppliers, a few times a month. Sourcing — identify new suppliers of products and services in China and across Asia. Research — gather information on trade fairs and industry exhibitions, technologies, market opportunities, potential customers, and any other topic where we need reliable intelligence on the ground in Asia. What we are looking for Excellent spoken and written English — you will communicate with our French teams every day. Excellent spoken and written Mandarin — you will communicate with all our Chinese suppliers. Ability to get to grips with EU organic regulations and Fair Trade standards (FLOCERT / Fairtrade), plus a solid understanding of food safety requirements and certifications such as ISO, BRC and IFS. Fully comfortable with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Open to and comfortable working with AI tools — we use them daily. Bachelor's or Master's degree. Experience in the food industry, trading or supply chain is a plus — recent graduates with strong language skills and genuine motivation are welcome to apply. Autonomous, well organised and reliable: you will be working on your own in Hong Kong, and we need someone we can trust to keep things moving. France is world-renowned for its gastronomy and food products, and there may well be export opportunities into Asia to develop. Package & working conditions Salary: HK$23,000 per month. Working hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 – 18:00 (1-hour lunch break), 40 hours per week. Occasional early or late calls with our French teams (Hong Kong is 6 to 7 hours ahead of Paris). Annual leave: 14 days per year, plus all Hong Kong statutory holidays. MPF: employer contribution as per statutory requirements. Workplace: a co-working space in Hong Kong, chosen together with you and located close to your home. Fully covered by the company. Contract: permanent, full-time, with a 3-month probation period.
