We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for cost estimation, budgeting, tendering, contract administration, progress claim assessment and cost reporting throughout the project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities • Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates from architectural and structural drawings using industry-standard software. • Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring costs remain within approved financial limits. • Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQ), tender documents and contract pricing for commercial construction projects. • Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations, negotiate pricing and recommend cost-effective procurement solutions. • Administer subcontract agreements and monitor contractual compliance throughout project delivery. • Assess subcontractor progress claims and prepare payment schedules in accordance with contract terms. • Monitor project costs, identify cost variations and prepare variation claims and supporting documentation. • Conduct value engineering and cost analysis to achieve project budget objectives without compromising quality. • Prepare monthly cost reports, cash flow forecasts and financial updates for project managers and senior management. • Liaise with clients, architects, engineers, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors regarding project costs and contractual matters. • Attend site meetings and carry out site inspections to verify completed work and monitor project progress. • Assist with project forecasting, final account negotiations and project close-out procedures. • Ensure compliance with the New Zealand Building Code, health and safety requirements and relevant NZ standards. • Maintain accurate project records, procurement documentation and contract administration files.
