JOB TITLE: Parts Interpreter - Heavy Transport COMPANY: Central Diesel Services (CDS) LOCATION: Bay of Plenty & Waikato ABOUT US: Central Diesel Services (CDS) is a long-established and highly respected company serving the transport industry in the Bay of Plenty region. We represent leading brands such as Mercedes Benz, Freightliner, FUSO trucks, Detroit, and Cummins Engines. With over 30 years of expertise in diesel services, we handle thousands of jobs annually, ensuring our customers receive the benefit of a knowledgeable team dedicated to getting them back on the road as quickly as possible. ROLE OVERVIEW: We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Parts Interpreter to join our team. This role is perfect for someone who thrives on building strong customer relationships and is passionate about providing exceptional service. As a key member of our parts department, you will play a crucial role in maintaining customer satisfaction and driving sales growth. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide outstanding sales support and service to external customers, ensuring their needs are met promptly and efficiently. Oversee inventory levels, ensure timely dispatch of orders, and manage stock discrepancies. Participate in training programs to stay updated on product knowledge and contribute to process improvements within the parts department. Foster strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to enhance collaboration and drive business success. Process all external customer enquiries and sales orders in a timely manner, prepare quotes, and follow up with customers. Report all complaints and lost sales to the Parts Manager and ensure same day dispatching of customer orders for stocked items. Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the parts department, including workspace, warehouse, vehicles and parts areas. Check and process part orders on arrival, update orders with accurate delivery due dates, and ensure storeroom is kept clean and tidy. Maintain a customer sales call cycle, target and win new customers, and promote CDS parts to all customers. Ensure the workshop gets parts on time to maintain workflow. SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES: Experience in the automotive industry with a strong preference to heavy transport Experience in sales, including outbound selling and parts sales. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Physically fit and able to carry parts up to 25kg. Excellent customer service skills and good phone etiquette. REQUIREMENTS: Legally able to work permanently in NZ. Class 1 (Car) NZ Driver's licence.
