Join our National Office in Dunedin as our Compliance Assurance Lead and play a key role in supporting the success of MTF Finance and our nationwide franchise and dealer network. You'll partner with teams across the business to translate regulatory obligations into clear, workable business solutions that enable confident decision making while keeping compliance front of mind. This is more than a compliance role; it's an opportunity to influence how the business navigates an evolving regulatory landscape. You'll lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of our compliance assurance framework, helping ensure we meet our obligations while supporting practical, commercial outcomes. Just some of the things you’re responsible for: Lead the design, implementation and maintenance of comprehensive frameworks that support MTF Finance to comply with regulatory requirements and industry standards underpinned by three lines of defence model (including obligations register, compliance assurance plan / monitoring (QA) programme, management information and key performance indicators for compliance, policy development) Be the centre of excellence equipping our first line teams with the tools and insight to manage compliance confidently Stay ahead of change, tracking regulatory and industry shifts so we’re always ready Deliver sharp, practical training that makes compliance clear and actionable Support with regulatory engagement, including reporting and preparing submissions AML programme oversight You’ll need to have: Proven experience developing, implementing and embedding assurance frameworks across a business with a range of stakeholders and across a variety of regulatory requirements Ability to quickly establish credibility as a trusted, collaborative advisor that can partner with internal stakeholders and within a team Highly competent in interpreting legislation and policy Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders Commercially astute and demonstrated ability to think strategically and provide practical solutions to complex issues Excellent self-management and organisational skills, with a strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy Experience preparing and presenting high-quality reports for senior leaders and governance forums, leveraging technology where appropriate Extensive compliance or legal experience and expertise, preferably within the financial services industry Familiarity with CCCFA and Anti-Money Laundering & Countering Financing of Terrorism rules and regulations (preferable) Strong Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook skills with an enthusiasm for, and ability to adapt to, new technology What you’ll receive in return: We’re a New Zealand business on a mission to be New Zealand’s favourite finance company, and we’re proudly based in Dunedin.
