Casual Support Nanny/Mentor/Personal Care Assistant

We are looking for a kind, energetic and reliable nanny/support mentor/personal care assistant to work one-on-one with our 18-year-old with high needs This role is ideal for someone who is patient, encouraging, compassionate and enjoys supporting daily living skills, independence and confidence in a positive and respectful way. About you: Warm, polite and compassionate Patient, calm and understanding Energetic, motivating and positive Enjoys building trust and supporting individual needs. Playing games and engaging in fun, interactive activities. Able to provide gentle guidance and encouragement Encouraging learning in a supportive and creative way Strong communication and interpersonal skills Experience supporting non-verbal individuals Educational background preferred but not essential (teaching, education, disability support or similar) Familiar with the Australian Curriculum Confident using computers and technology to support learning Reliable, proactive and willing to adapt to individual needs The Role: Provide one-on-one support in a home environment Support personal care and daily living skills Assist with teaching how to put on shoes and tie laces Provide guidance with eating independently Teach basic food preparation skills Help keep the young person focused, motivated and engaged Encourage independence, confidence and social development Assist with homework, study routines and curriculum-based learning Support reading, writing, organization and computer-based tasks as needed Plan and participate in games, conversation and other recreational activities Use age-appropriate resources and technology to keep sessions engaging Create a calm, positive and motivating atmosphere Balance academic support with recreational engagement Engage in fun, interactive activities to build rapport and motivation Assist with general housework Employment Details: Casual position initially, with the opportunity to become permanent part-time $40-$50 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience If you are passionate about making a meaningful difference in a young persons life we'd love to hear from you.
