About the Role We are seeking an experienced Distribution Operations Manager to lead intermediary management, distribution governance, and operational support initiatives within the Distribution Operations team. This role will work closely with Business Development, Underwriting, Customer Experience, Legal and Compliance, Finance, and external distribution partners to ensure effective operational controls, regulatory compliance, and service excellence across distribution channels. Key Responsibilities Intermediary Management & Compliance • Oversee the onboarding and ongoing administration of distribution partners, including intermediary agreements, due diligence reviews, and account maintenance. • Manage operational governance for distribution channels, ensuring compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and market conduct standards. • Act as a key escalation point for distribution partners and internal stakeholders on operational and intermediary-related matters. • Oversee distributor portal administration, including account access management and entitlement controls for products and promotional campaigns. • Support the implementation of regulatory and compliance initiatives, including IA-related requirements, channel governance controls, and conduct risk management. • Review and approve due diligence documentation and operational assessments for business counterparties, including brokers, banks, and trustee companies. Distribution Operations & Business Support • Lead the resolution of complex case pending matters and operational issues in collaboration with Underwriting, Customer Experience, and Business Development teams. • Oversee the preparation and distribution of operational communications, service updates, and announcements to distribution channels. • Drive workflow enhancements and operational efficiency initiatives to improve service quality, turnaround time, and operational accuracy. • Establish and maintain operational procedures, controls, and service standards to support business growth and risk management objectives. Compensation Administration & Reporting • Oversee commission and compensation processes, including validation, reconciliation, exception handling, and operational control reviews. • Ensure accuracy and timely delivery of operational reports, management information, and compliance-related reporting. • Analyze distribution operational performance, identify trends and risks, and provide recommendations to management for continuous improvement. People Leadership & Development • Provide ongoing guidance, training, and performance feedback to junior staff to enhance team capabilities and operational effectiveness. • Support talent development, succession planning, and employee engagement initiatives within the team. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Insurance, Finance, or a related discipline. • 7-10 years of experience in insurance operations, distribution operations, intermediary management, broker administration, compliance operations, or related functions within the insurance industry. • Solid understanding of insurance distribution channels, intermediary management frameworks, operational governance, and regulatory requirements. • Experience managing distributor onboarding, due diligence, commission administration, and operational control processes. • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with business leaders, control functions, and external distribution partners. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience interpreting operational and performance data to support decision-making. • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and risk awareness. • Strong communication and presentation skills in both English and Chinese. • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, knowledge of Power BI, VBA, or data visualization tools would be an advantage.
