Job Title: Accounts Officer Location: Brisbane, QLD Employment Type: Full-time Reports to: Business Owner / Operations Manager About the Role We are a growing flooring construction business based in Brisbane, delivering high-quality commercial flooring solutions. We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Accounts Officer to manage financial tasks. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a small team environment, can take ownership of accounts processes, and is comfortable multitasking. Key Responsibilities Accounts Payable & Receivable Process supplier invoices and ensure timely payments Generate and send customer invoices Maintain accurate price lists by customer Follow up on outstanding accounts and ensure retentions are closed Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies Banking & Reconciliation Perform daily/weekly bank reconciliations Proactively manage cash flow and deliver solutions via weekly reporting Payroll Support Assist with payroll processing (timesheets, subcontractor payments) Maintain accurate employee and contractor records Financial Administration Maintain accurate financial records in accounting software (e.g. Xero, MYOB) Assist with BAS preparation and liaise with external accountant/bookkeeper Prepare financial reports (P&L, Cash Flow, Sales Projections) with monthly presentation to owners Stock and Inventory Management Order stock for projects and general warehouse supplies Maintain Stock On Hand report General Administration Respond to email enquiries Support job tracking, purchase orders, and project documentation Maintain filing systems (digital and physical) Assist with compliance and licensing documentation Skills & Experience Previous experience in an accounts or accounting role (construction industry experience highly regarded) Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero/MYOB Strong attention to detail, ownership and problem solving Ability to work independently and manage priorities Good communication skills and a professional manner Basic understanding of GST, BAS, and Australian accounting practices Desirable (but not essential) Experience in the construction or trades industry Knowledge of job costing or project-based accounting Familiarity with subcontractor management What We Offer Friendly, small team environment Flexible working arrangements Opportunity to grow with the business Variety in day-to-day tasks
