For over a century, Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club (KLTC) has been acknowledged as one of the most prestigious and historic tennis and sporting institutions in the southern hemisphere with first class sporting, social and hospitality facilities. Internationally renowned as the spiritual home of Australian Tennis, our extensive grounds set amongst manicured gardens and lawns, comprise over 50 tennis courts, fully equipped gymnasium, fitness areas, squash courts, lap pool and spa, Racquet Club restaurant, Hopman Bistro and Members’ Bar, as well as 6 conference spaces. With a proud legacy and a commitment to excellence and Member experiences, KLTC has embarked on a transformative journey to bring its Tennis Coaching to an inhouse model. Our ambition is to establish Kooyong as the pinnacle of tennis excellence in Australia — a globally respected leader in coaching, member engagement, and performance — starting with a world-class Member and Hot Shots Tennis program. Reporting to the Director of Tennis Coaching and Programs Jarryd Maher, we are now seeking an experienced and visionary Member Coaching and Engagement Lead to steer and manage our Tennis Coaching member pathway and activations. This leader will be responsible for delivering exceptional coaching services and engaging member participation programs to Kooyong Members of all ages and abilities, assist is the development of the coaching team, and provide exceptional tennis experiences internally, domestically and internationally with our reciprocal clubs. Role Description: Reporting and Collaboration: The position will collaborate closely with the Junior Development and Player Pathway Lead, Performance and Foundation Manager, KLTC Coaching Operations Manager, current coaches, KLTC Sports Team, and the Health & Fitness Manager and Team. Core Pillars of the Role: · High-Quality Coaching for All Members Design and lead a comprehensive junior and adult program that serves all members – from beginners to advanced players – ensuring engaging, progressive, and personalised coaching focused on performance, participation, and enjoyment. · Events, Member Activations and Global Engagement Lead the strategic planning and delivery of premium member events including Club Open Days, internal tournaments, themed tennis experiences and signature member activations. Design innovative tennis-led engagement opportunities that enhance connection, enjoyment and long-term participation within the Club. · Leadership of a World-Class Member Coaching Program Lead the effective planning, implementation and growth of Kooyong’s Adult Coaching and Cardio Tennis programs. Be responsible for the coaching and engagement of pennant teams, ITF seniors masters programs, and collaborating with the Sports Department for the recommendation of players in sections. Drive increased participation and long-term engagement across the adult coaching pathway. · Community & Club Culture Foster an inclusive and welcoming club environment, encouraging participation and engagement to build a strong sense of pride and belonging among members, leading to generational Kooyong Members. · Participation maximisation Ensure the member coaching at Kooyong is a successful, self-sustaining business, focusing of participant growth, engagement, experience, and holiday programming and retention thus returning value back to the club and members. Ideal Requirements & Experience: · 5-8+ years’ experience in coaching, program leadership, or player development, including designing and managing coaching or competition pathways · Full time 38 hour work week, including early mornings, evenings and 1 day on the weekend · Proven record in growing programs, participation and performance success · Tennis Australia Club Professional or Performance Coach (Level 3, preferred) or ITF equivalent · Current Tennis Australia Coach Membership Preferred Skills: · Ability to establish and nurture strong relationships with the Club, team members, and Club members · Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities · Strong organisational and strategic planning skills · Player-focused coaching philosophy aligned with modern best practices Application Process: · Resume and Cover Letter: Apply through SEEK.
