Key Responsibilities Assist the Maintenance Manager with routine, preventative and project-based maintenance across the entire QT Auckland property — interior, exterior and associated buildings. Respond promptly to guest and inter-departmental maintenance requests, carrying out repairs and defect rectification according to priority and hotel SOPs. Carry out general and preventative maintenance tasks including painting, plumbing, basic electrical, carpentry, air con filter cleaning and alarm system testing. Maintain a sound understanding of Building Warrant of Fitness (BWOF) and compliance requirements, taking all practical steps to uphold them. Log all defects, work orders and completed repairs accurately, and operate all tools and equipment safely and responsibly. Support other departments and colleagues when needed, and represent the QT and EVT brand with pride. What You'll Bring Practical, hands-on maintenance experience in a hotel or commercial property (preferred). Professional experience across trades including painting, plumbing, basic electrical and/or carpentry is a bonus. A proactive approach — you spot issues before they become problems. Understanding of building compliance and BWOF requirements (or a willingness to learn). Physical fitness suited to a labour-intensive, fast-paced hotel environment. A positive, can-do attitude with reliability and punctuality you can count on. Respect for guests and colleagues from all backgrounds, and a genuine team-first mentality.
