About the role FCTA - Building Careers is seeking a Trainer and Assessor - Bricklaying to join our vocational education team on a casual basis . This role is based in Holden Hill, SA 5088 as well as other sites . As a Trainer and Assessor, you will play a vital role in developing the next generation of skilled bricklayers, providing hands-on instruction and professional assessment to learners pursuing qualifications in the building and construction industry. What you'll be doing Delivering engaging and practical bricklaying training sessions to vocational learners, both individuals and groups Assessing learners' competency in bricklaying techniques, safety practices and theoretical knowledge through practical tasks and formal assessments Providing constructive feedback to learners to support their skill development and progression Maintaining detailed records of learner attendance, progress and assessment outcomes Ensuring all training delivery adheres to health and safety standards and workplace regulations Collaborating with other trainers and staff to support the overall success of the training programme Keeping up to date with industry changes, best practices and training methodologies in bricklaying What we're looking for Current or recent practical experience as a qualified bricklayer with demonstrable expertise in bricklaying techniques and construction practices Recognised bricklaying qualifications or trade certification Training and assessment credentials in Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or a willingness to achieve are essential Ability to secure a working with children police check. Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts in a clear and engaging manner Patience and the ability to adapt teaching methods to suit diverse learner needs and abilities A commitment to health and safety in the workplace and the ability to model safe working practices Knowledge of relevant industry standards, building codes and regulations in Australia Experience in vocational training delivery or mentoring within the construction industry is highly desirable A willingness to work flexibly on a casual basis to support training delivery schedules What we offer At FCTA - Building Careers, we are committed to supporting our trainers and assessors in delivering quality vocational education.
