About the role Glass Specialists (Timaru) Ltd is seeking a skilled and experienced Automotive Glass Technician to join our team in Timaru, Canterbury. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in our operation, delivering high-quality glass replacement and repair services to vehicle owners across the region. Key responsibilities Remove and replace damaged or faulty automotive glass, including windscreens, side windows, rear windows and sunroofs, with precision and care Perform ADAS diagnostic assessments and recalibration of Vehicle ADAS Systems Apply adhesives, sealants and protective coatings to ensure weatherproofing and structural integrity of installed glass Operate specialised automotive glass tools and equipment safely and efficiently Inspect completed work to verify quality standards and ensure compliance with industry regulations Communicate effectively with customers to explain repair options, timescales and costs Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used and customer details Assist in maintaining a clean and organised workshop environment Support health and safety protocols and contribute to a safe working culture Stay updated with developments in automotive glass technology and repair techniques What we're looking for A recognised qualification or certification in automotive glass repair and replacement, or equivalent practical experience Proven experience working as an Automotive Glass Technician or in a similar automotive trades role A solid understanding of different types of automotive glass and their properties Proficiency with automotive glass removal and installation tools and equipment Knowledge of adhesives, sealants and safety standards relevant to automotive glazing Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship Excellent communication and customer service skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team A current, clean driving licence is desirable Physical fitness and the ability to work in various positions for extended periods A commitment to health and safety practices in the workplace What we offer At Glass Specialists (Timaru) Ltd, we value our employees and are committed to providing a supportive and rewarding work environment.
