Join a small, high-performing team delivering digital services that matter. Liquid has a strong pipeline of work across government, health and education, and we're looking for an experienced Senior Full Stack Web Developer to join us on a six-month contract. You'll play an important role in strengthening our engineering capability and helping our teams deliver a busy portfolio of high-quality digital projects. This is a hands-on senior role for someone who enjoys solving complex technical problems, providing technical leadership and working across both front-end and back-end development. You'll collaborate with designers, strategists and delivery teams to build secure, accessible and well-engineered digital services, while helping to guide technical decisions and support other developers. We're a Brisbane-based team and work in a hybrid way, so we're looking for someone who can regularly work from our Brisbane studio and enjoys collaborating face-to-face as part of a close-knit team. We're also looking for someone who's curious about the practical application of AI and excited to explore how emerging tools can improve engineering workflows, team processes and product outcomes over time. What you’ll be doing Build, test, document and improve public-facing websites and web platforms. Work across front-end and back-end development using technologies such as Drupal and Next.js. Help deliver secure, accessible and well-engineered digital services for government and other complex environments. Contribute to configuration management, build automation, deployment and release processes. Support maintenance, issue resolution and application support. Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver practical, high-quality digital outcomes. Contribute ideas about how AI can improve workflows, team processes and product outcomes. What you’ll bring Experience as a senior full stack web developer across front-end and back-end delivery. Experience building or maintaining websites, web platforms or digital services. A solid understanding of accessibility, security and quality requirements in public-facing digital environments. Experience with testing, refactoring, deployment, maintenance and support. Experience with cloud based hosting providers such as Azure, AWS and GovCMS. Confidence working in small to mid-sized multidisciplinary teams. Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset. Curiosity about AI, LLMs and emerging tools, and an interest in applying them in practical ways. Tech we work with You don’t need to tick every box, but you should be confident working across several of the following: PHP and common OOP design principles Drupal / GovCMS, including Drupal 9, 10 and 11 SQL and relational databases Front-end frameworks such as React, Vue or Angular Composer and NPM REST APIs, with GraphQL as a plus Git and Git-based workflows CLI tools such as Drush Drupal templating, including Twig, CSS, JavaScript and responsive design Configuration management and Drupal configuration workflows Bonus points It would be great if you also bring experience in any of the following: Government or public sector digital services Accessibility standards and user-centred digital delivery CI/CD pipelines, cloud hosting or managed platform environments TypeScript Symfony GraphQL React Native (mobile app development) Next.js and/or React Writing controlled and uncontrolled front-end components AI-assisted development tools used in a thoughtful and disciplined way Relevant certifications or platform accreditations Working at Liquid You’ll do well here if you enjoy working in a collaborative, low-ego environment with people who care about doing good work and making a real impact.
