We're looking for a Software Engineer who thrives at the crossroads of Generative AI, Process Automation, and System Integration. This isn't a typical engineering role. You'll be turning complex business problems into smart, efficient workflows that drive real innovation across the organization. Responsibilities: Automation & AI Solution Development Workflow Architecture: Design, develop, and maintain sophisticated automated workflows using n8n and similar orchestration platforms. Intelligent Systems: Involve in the design and implementation of AI initiatives, identifying specific use cases where Machine Learning and GenAI can add tangible business value. Custom Scripting: Develop robust Python scripts for complex data transformation, processing, and specialized automation tasks that go beyond standard integrations. Integration & System Maintenance API Management: Build and integrate secure APIs to bridge gaps between internal business systems and external data sources. DevOps & Reliability: Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments Troubleshooting: Monitor and troubleshoot automated systems to ensure reliability and performance. Documentation: Create documentation for workflows, integrations and technical processes. Research & Innovation Emerging Tech: Stay current with emerging generative AI trends, tools, and research; proactively evaluate and integrate relevant advancements to ensure the organization maintains a strong, forward-thinking competitive edge in the evolving AI landscape. Productivity Tools: Recommend and pilot new frameworks and tools to enhance internal productivity and patient-facing innovation. Domain Expertise: Apply AI solutions specifically to solve challenges within the digital health space, ensuring compliance and ethical standards. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Communication Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with clients to understand their business processes and identify automation opportunities. Partner with business leaders and project managers to define Automation strategies and AI strategies that align with long-term organizational goals. Data Synergy: Work alongside Data Engineers to co-develop AI-powered analytics solutions, including chatbot interfaces, design scalable data models and define structured schemas to ensure context-ready data for AI applications. System Integration: Work closely with the development team to integrate automation solutions with existing applications. Technical Translation: Distill complex technical results and AI outputs into actionable insights for non-technical audiences and clinical stakeholders. Requirements : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience Proficiency in Python & familiar with SQL and NoSQL databases. Hands-on experience with the n8n workflow automation platform is a plus. Strong experience in API design (e.g. REST APIs) and webhooks. Familiarity with LLM integration (OpenAI, LangChain, Anthropic) and data processing libraries. Experience with CI/CD tools, Git version control, and cloud environments (AWS/GCP). Excellent communication skills and the ability to consult directly with clients/stakeholders. That number is real. WorkMundi's database shows 144,883 open engineer roles across the world. India has the most with 31,687 jobs, followed by the United States with 30,084. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
