Job Summary We are seeking a proactive, curious, and detail-oriented Assistant / Procurement Engineer to join our team at Senko Advanced Components. In this role, you will bridge the gap between product engineering and supply chain operations, supporting new product development from concept through to mass production. You will collaborate closely with Product Manager (PM), Sales, Engineering, and global supplier networks to manage Bills of Materials (BOMs), coordinate R&D tooling and sample orders, and drive cost-evaluation activities. We are looking for an inquisitive team player eager to explore new materials, technologies, and sourcing avenues to ensure smooth project execution. Key Responsibilities NPD & Sourcing Support: Support product development activities from concept to full production, leveraging project management skills to keep timelines and deliverables on track. Cross-Functional Coordination: Partner closely with PM, Sales, Engineering, and cross-functional teams to align project goals, facilitate resource allocation, and streamline execution. BOM & Cost Optimization: Maintain and update project Bills of Materials (BOMs), cost analysis models, and component evaluation data to ensure target margins and technical criteria are met. Material & Supplier Exploration: Coordinate and issue tooling orders and R&D sample requests. Actively explore, research, and evaluate new materials, components, and potential supply sources to optimize product design and lead times. Sample & Inventory Management: Manage R&D sample inventory, library records, and distribution activities across cross-functional teams. Supplier Liaison: Assist in daily vendor communication, contract coordination, and supplier evaluation when required. Ad-hoc Projects: Execute additional operational tasks and strategic supply chain initiatives as assigned by management. Requirements Education: Bachelor degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, or a related field. Experience: Minimum 3 year of hands-on experience in procurement, sourcing, engineering support, manufacturing, or product development. Candidates with 5+ years of relevant experience will be considered for Procurement Engineer . Fresh graduates with related education field are welcome. Project Management & Technical Expertise: Fundamental project management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize workloads, and meet tight project timelines. Practical knowledge of engineering materials, manufacturing processes, and global sourcing channels (experience in optical components, electronics, or hardware is an advantage). Familiarity with BOM management, cost analysis, and hands-on experience with Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and ERP/MRP systems. Personal Attributes & Soft Skills: Willingness to learn and a passion for exploring new technologies, materials, and processes. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively across departments and with external vendors. Proactive, detail-oriented, adaptable, and resilient under pressure. Language Skills: Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Mandarin for supplier communication).
