About the role We are seeking a Senior Account Executive to join our Financial Accounting & Reporting team at the company. This is a full-time position based in Johor. As Senior Account Executive, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality financial accounting and reporting services to our clients. You will be responsible for managing key client relationships, overseeing complex accounting projects, and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting that meets regulatory standards and client expectations. What you'll be doing Manage and maintain relationships with assigned client portfolios, serving as the primary point of contact for accounting and reporting matters Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting standards Coordinate and supervise junior accounting staff on project assignments, providing guidance and quality assurance on deliverables Analyse financial data and transactions to identify discrepancies, potential risks, and opportunities for process improvement Prepare detailed financial reports, reconciliations, and supporting schedules for clients and internal stakeholders Ensure compliance with relevant accounting frameworks, regulatory requirements, and client-specific accounting policies Liaise with clients to gather financial information, clarify accounting issues, and communicate findings and recommendations Maintain detailed documentation of accounting work completed and ensure audit trails are properly recorded Contribute to the development of accounting procedures and best practices within the team Identify opportunities to streamline processes and enhance service delivery to clients What we're looking for A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in financial accounting, reporting, or a related accounting discipline within a professional accounting firm or corporate environment Professional accounting qualification such as CA (Chartered Accountant), CPA (Certified Public Accountant), ACCA, or equivalent recognised credential Extensive knowledge of accounting standards including IFRS, MFRS, and local Malaysian accounting requirements Proven expertise in preparing financial statements, balance sheet reconciliations, and complex journal entries Strong proficiency with accounting software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis tools Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify errors and inconsistencies in complex financial data Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical accounting concepts to non-financial stakeholders Demonstrated ability to manage multiple client engagements and meet tight deadlines Experience in supervising and mentoring junior staff members is highly desirable Knowledge of audit processes and experience working with external auditors is preferred What we offer We are committed to providing a rewarding and supportive work environment for our team members.
