About the role Zhongshan Whampoa International Education (Holding) Limited is seeking a Substitute Teacher to join our secondary education team. This is a part-time position based in Kowloon Tong, Kowloon City District . As a Substitute Teacher, you will play a vital role in maintaining educational continuity and ensuring our students receive quality instruction during periods of staff absence. You will step in to deliver lessons, manage classrooms, and support the academic progress of our secondary students, contributing meaningfully to our school community whilst maintaining the high standards we uphold. Key responsibilities Deliver lessons according to prepared lesson plans and curriculum guidelines across assigned subject areas Manage classroom behaviour and create a positive, inclusive learning environment for secondary students Assess student progress and provide feedback on assignments and classroom participation Maintain detailed records of attendance, grades and student progress during periods of substitution Communicate effectively with permanent staff to understand ongoing lesson objectives and student needs Supervise students during breaks, lunch periods and other non-teaching times as required Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistency in teaching standards and student support Adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse learning needs of secondary-level students Follow school policies, procedures and safeguarding requirements at all times What we're looking for A relevant teaching qualification or degree in a subject area relevant to secondary education Demonstrated experience teaching secondary-level students, either as a permanent or supply teacher Strong subject knowledge in one or more secondary curriculum areas Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to maintain student engagement and discipline Effective communication skills with students, staff and parents Flexibility and adaptability to work in different classrooms and with varying year groups A commitment to safeguarding and child protection policies The ability to work independently whilst being responsive to feedback from permanent staff Recognised teaching credentials or certification (such as PGCE, QTS or equivalent international qualifications) Experience working in international or English-medium schools is advantageous What we offer At Zhongshan Whampoa International Education (Holding) Limited, we value our teaching staff and provide a supportive, collaborative working environment.
