Key Responsibilities Investment Research & Deal Origination Conduct industry, market and competitive research across targeted sectors. Identify and evaluate potential investment opportunities through market research and desktop screening. Prepare preliminary investment screening reports, company profiles and business summaries. Perform background research on target companies, shareholders, management teams and key industry participants. Support investment sourcing initiatives and maintain the firm's investment pipeline database. Maintain industry watchlists and identify emerging investment themes. Financial Analysis & Valuation Analyse historical financial statements and management accounts. Build and maintain financial models to evaluate investment opportunities. Perform financial analysis, including profitability, cash flow, working capital and operational performance. Conduct company valuation using methodologies such as Comparable Company Analysis, Precedent Transactions and Discounted Cash Flow (DCF). Review business plans, financial forecasts and investment assumptions. Review operating metrics, management accounts and budget variances to support investment evaluation. Identify key investment risks, opportunities and value drivers. Prepare financial summaries and investment analysis for internal decision-making. Due Diligence & Transaction Support Support financial, commercial, operational, legal and tax due diligence processes. Coordinate information requests with target companies and external advisers. Maintain virtual data rooms and transaction documentation. Review due diligence findings and prepare issue trackers for internal discussions. Assist in preparing investment committee papers, investment memoranda and presentation materials. Support the investment team throughout the transaction lifecycle, from initial evaluation through signing and completion. Capital Markets & Investor Support Assist in preparing investor presentations, teasers, information memoranda and other transaction materials. Support the preparation of financial information and due diligence materials. Coordinate information requests from prospective investors, investment banks and professional advisers. Maintain transaction databases and support the preparation of marketing materials. Support the investment team during fundraising and exit processes. Portfolio Monitoring Review monthly management accounts and financial performance of portfolio companies. Monitor budgets, forecasts and operational key performance indicators. Prepare periodic portfolio monitoring reports and management updates. Analyse portfolio company performance and identify key financial and operational trends. Support portfolio monitoring activities and ad hoc projects relating to portfolio company performance. Market Intelligence & Digital Transformation Monitor macroeconomic developments, capital markets and industry trends. Track comparable M&A transactions, fundraising activities and valuation benchmarks. Maintain valuation databases and comparable company information. Support the evaluation and adoption of AI-enabled tools and workflows to enhance investment research, due diligence, portfolio monitoring and operational efficiency. Assist in developing and maintaining internal knowledge repositories, research databases and AI-assisted document management systems. Explore opportunities to automate repetitive tasks and improve operational efficiency through AI and workflow automation tools. Stay abreast of developments in AI, data analytics and emerging technologies relevant to private equity and investment management. Support internal research projects, strategic initiatives and corporate presentations. Undertake other ad hoc assignments as required. Requirements Education Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering or a related discipline. Working towards a professional qualification such as CFA, ACCA, ICAEW or CPA will be an advantage but is not mandatory. Experience 1–3 years of relevant experience in one or more of the following areas is preferred: Private Equity Financial Due Diligence / Transaction Advisory (Big Four preferred) Corporate Finance Investment Banking Equity Research Corporate Development External Audit (Big Four preferred) Outstanding fresh graduates with strong internship experience in investment-related roles may also be considered for the Investment Analyst position. Technical Skills Strong understanding of financial statements and accounting principles. Experience in financial modelling and company valuation. Strong analytical and quantitative skills. Familiarity with due diligence processes and virtual data rooms. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word. Demonstrated interest in leveraging AI productivity and workflow automation tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Claude, Microsoft Copilot) will be an advantage. Experience with financial databases such as Capital IQ, PitchBook, Bloomberg or similar platforms will be an advantage.
