Exciting opportunity within a major Federal Government transformation program Initial 12-month contract with an option for 2x 12-month extension options!! Hybrid arrangement in Canberra - Attractive hourly rates $$ One of Australia's leading Federal Government agencies is looking to engage an experienced Cloud Engineers to design, implement, and support cloud-based platforms and services, ensuring secure, reliable, and scalable solutions that meet organisational and business requirements. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a highly technical and collaborative environment on an initial 12-month contract, with lucrative hourly rates and 2 x 12-month extension options. The successful Cloud Engineers will be responsible for, but not limited to: Design, implement, and support Microsoft 365, Azure, Exchange Online, and SharePoint Online solutions. Manage cloud identity, access, security, and compliance services, including Microsoft Entra ID and Conditional Access. Monitor, maintain, and optimise cloud infrastructure and collaboration platforms to ensure performance, availability, and reliability. Troubleshoot and resolve complex cloud service issues while contributing to continuous improvement and automation initiatives. The successful Cloud Engineers will have experience in the following: Demonstrated experience administering Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and Microsoft Entra ID. Strong hands-on experience with Azure services, cloud infrastructure, networking, and identity management. Experience implementing security, governance, and compliance controls across Microsoft cloud environments. Proven ability to automate operational tasks using PowerShell and support cloud migration, upgrade, and transformation projects. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Cloud Engineer to contribute to national project of huge importance while working in a collaborative and high-performing team. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.

Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
