Job Summary The FFE Interior Designer (Intermediate/ Senior) will be part of an expanding and specialist Hospitality team within greymatters. The role will work closely with a team of motivated and experienced design professionals in our Bangkok Studio. Working as part of a collaborative design team, you will help interpret Client and Operator Briefs in creating FFE Schedules, Specifications, and Documentation through innovative and impactful design solutions across a variety of exciting hospitality projects. The Intermediate/Senior FFE Interior Designer will take responsibility for assigned FFE packages, supporting projects from concept design through completion. The role requires strong design judgement, technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate effectively with internal teams, clients, operators, suppliers, and consultants to deliver high-quality FFE solutions aligned with project requirements, program, and design intent. Key Responsibilities FFE Design & Documentation • Involved in all design phases of projects and specifically the coordination and preparation of FFE concepts, selections, schedules, coordination, and details. • Develops and prepares FFE design solutions in response to Client and Operator Briefs, ensuring alignment with project vision, functionality, quality standards, and design intent. • Controls the production and compilation of FFE Schedules, Specifications, and Documents in association with Design Teams and Management. • Maintains robust and organized FFE processes through compliance with established software, documentation standards, and company protocols. • Working closely with Interior Designers and project teams to ensure designs are developed in accordance with design intent and best practice. • Working closely with project teams on producing full sets of Design Drawings, FFE documentation, and specifications. • Ensures project assignments and FFE deliverables are completed within agreed deadlines and project programs. Materials, Products & Supplier Coordination • Responsible for the maintenance and update of all materials and samples in the Company Library, ensuring adequate stock of critical materials for Boards and presentations. • Maintains close liaison and relationships with Materials and Product Suppliers to ensure full updates and compatibility of all items. • Coordinates closely with design teams to ensure preparation of Materials Boards, FFE schedules, and product selections align with project programs. • Explores and updates Materials and Product Library with the latest innovations, hospitality trends, and industry developments. • Develops strong knowledge of furniture, finishes, fabrics, accessories, lighting, and decorative items suitable for hospitality environments. • Coordinates with suppliers and manufacturers to obtain product information, samples, quotations, and technical details where required. • Reviews supplier submissions, samples, strike-offs, and product alternatives to ensure compliance with specifications and design intent. Project Coordination & Delivery • Coordinates closely with Project Directors, Designers, Consultants, Clients, Operators, and external stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of FFE packages. • Assists in coordination with other consultants when the need arises. • Reviews shop drawings, samples, prototypes, strike-offs, and materials for compliance with specifications, quality standards, and design intent. • Identifies potential design, technical, or program issues and supports the team in developing appropriate solutions. • Supports FFE budgeting, cost awareness, and value engineering exercises while maintaining the overall design vision. • Flexibility in handling multiple projects and priorities simultaneously. Client Presentation & Site Experience • Participates in project meetings, design reviews, and Client presentations as needed. • For assigned projects, attend presentations, coordination meetings, supplier meetings, and site visits as required. • Presents FFE concepts, materials, and product selections clearly to internal teams, clients, and project stakeholders. • Conducts site visits to review installation progress, samples, mock-ups, and ensure design intent is maintained throughout project delivery. Leadership & Team Support • Provides guidance, knowledge sharing, and technical support to junior designers where required. • Supports the development of FFE processes, standards, and best practices within the team. • Demonstrates ownership and accountability for assigned project responsibilities and deliverables. Education / Qualifications • Tertiary related qualification (BA, BSc) in Interior Design or Product / Industrial Design. • Related memberships or affiliations to Professional Organizations preferably. Experience, Knowledge & Skills • Minimum 3–5 years of related FFE work experience within a professional Hospitality Design Organization. • Preferable experience and exposure to Hospitality design across both urban and resort properties. • Strong understanding of FFE design processes, documentation, specifications, and procurement procedures. • Good knowledge of hospitality furniture, materials, finishes, accessories, and product standards. • Ability to evaluate product suitability considering aesthetics, functionality, durability, maintenance, and project requirements. • Experience coordinating with suppliers, manufacturers, and consultants. • Possess adequate knowledge of Microsoft Office, InDesign, Photoshop, AutoCAD, SketchUp. • Rhino (Added Advantage). • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time management skills. • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced design environment. • Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills. Written and Verbal Language Skills • English: Strong written and spoken English communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with international clients, operators, suppliers, and project teams. • Thai: Fluent written and spoken Thai. • Other languages an advantage.
