About the role Workshop Manager 30 hours per week, reporting to the Technical Manager, coordinating and conducting the effective operation and maintenance of stores and workshop. The role involves hands-on workshop tasks, maintaining operational level of maintenance of plant and equipment, monitoring the procurement process to ensure materials are delivered in full on time to meet business needs, monitoring inventory levels and stock, and ensuring that all systems and processes are followed. You will also be assisting in the Nelson workshop a few days every 2-3 months. Key responsibilities Supervise and instruct contractors and staff to ensure asset management systems and equipment are being used appropriately Monitor the inspection of all equipment including rope access and lifting gear Inspection / testing and tagging of electrical equipment Ensure the health, safety, cleanliness, and security of the work environment Oversee planned maintenance of vehicles, machinery, and equipment Service plant and equipment Carry out fire warden duties Procurement of all inventory Monitor and assist with forecasting of stock levels Oversee stock control and processing of orders About you Manual driver's licence Demonstrable/referenced engineering and maintenance experience (more than 5 years) Familiarity with larger plant (HIAB trucks, compressors, HPUs and excavators) to manage the maintenance properly Procurement experience Workshop and stores experience Intermediate to basic Computer skills – Excel, Word Fire & Emergency Warden (desirable) Forklift Licence (desirable) First Aid (desirable) Class 2 drivers license (desirable) Previous experience with a computer-based Inventory Management system (desirable) About us Abseil Access is a pioneering company with expertise in work at height and rope access solutions.
