We design, build, and maintain the networks that keep homes, businesses, and communities across Aotearoa connected. We're looking for an Electrical Fitter to join our team in Christchurch. In this hands-on role, you'll help construct, maintain, and repair equipment across Canterbury's electricity network, ensuring power is delivered safely and reliably to the communities we serve. About the Role As an Electrical Fitter, you'll work across a variety of construction, maintenance, and fault response activities on Connetics' substation network. Working alongside an experienced team, you'll help deliver high-quality work while maintaining the highest standards of safety and customer service. You'll be involved in: Constructing, installing, and maintaining substation equipment Carrying out planned maintenance and responding to faults Reading and interpreting technical drawings and work instructions Ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard Participating in the standby roster when required About You You'll thrive in this role if you have: Registration as an Electrician with a current New Zealand practising licence Experience working on electrical infrastructure or substations A current New Zealand driver's licence What's on Offer Competitive hourly rates, generous overtime (T1.5 after 8 hours and weekends, T2 for after-hours fault work, plus 24/7 fault roster opportunities) Standard hours: 7:30am-4:00pm, with most work based across Christchurch and the wider Canterbury region Career development: Training, licensing support, and clear progression with pay increases as you advance through the grades Health & wellbeing: Free confidential counselling, annual flu vaccinations, mole checks, and biennial mini-medicals Free onsite parking, social club, employee discounts and access to our Hanmer holiday home Apply We know great candidates don't always tick every box.
