Our technology organisation comprises dedicated Cloud Infrastructure and Applications teams that work collaboratively to deliver secure, scalable and innovative digital solutions. As our Cloud Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in building and operating the cloud platform that powers our business while enabling our software engineering teams to deliver next-generation digital products. Office Location: Sunway Square Corporate Tower, Bandar Sunway Job Description: Reporting to the Head of Technology, you will be responsible for the administration, optimisation and governance of eazy's Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure. You will ensure our cloud platform remains secure, reliable and well-governed while supporting application teams through automation, cloud services and DevOps best practices. Working closely with the Head of Applications, you will help design and evolve a cloud platform that enables scalable software development and supports the company's long-term technology strategy. Key Responsibilities: Cloud Infrastructure & Operations Design, deploy and maintain Microsoft Azure infrastructure, including Virtual Machines, Azure SQL, Storage Accounts, Virtual Networks, Load Balancers and related cloud services. Monitor infrastructure performance, availability and capacity to ensure a secure, reliable and scalable production environment. Manage Azure subscriptions, resource groups and cloud resources while optimising performance and cost efficiency. Support infrastructure planning and implementation to meet future business growth. Cloud Security & Governance Maintain and enhance the security posture of the Azure environment through Microsoft Entra ID, RBAC, Conditional Access, Azure Key Vault and Microsoft Defender. Implement and maintain Azure governance standards, including resource policies, naming conventions, tagging standards and lifecycle management. Support security audits, vulnerability remediation and compliance initiatives, including MAS and ISO 27001 requirements where applicable. Ensure cloud infrastructure follows security and operational best practices. Collaboration with Development Teams Work closely with the Head of Applications and software engineering teams to provide the cloud platform that supports modern application development. Support Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, cloud-native application deployments and development environments. Provide technical guidance on cloud architecture, scalability, availability and performance throughout the software development lifecycle. Assist development teams in adopting Azure services and cloud best practices. Automation & Continuous Improvement Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Bicep and/or Terraform. Automate infrastructure provisioning and operational tasks using PowerShell, Azure CLI and scripting. Identify opportunities to improve platform reliability, operational efficiency and deployment automation. Evaluate new Azure technologies and recommend improvements to modernise the cloud environment. Monitoring, Backup & Disaster Recovery Configure and maintain Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights and alerting solutions. Manage backup strategies, disaster recovery planning and business continuity testing. Proactively monitor system health and investigate infrastructure issues to minimise downtime and improve service reliability. Respond to cloud infrastructure incidents, perform root cause analysis and implement preventive measures to improve platform stability. Documentation & Knowledge Management Maintain accurate documentation covering cloud architecture, network topology, security configuration, operational procedures and disaster recovery. Develop and maintain technical runbooks and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Share knowledge with the wider technology team and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. What you need: Experience 3+ years of hands-on Microsoft Azure administration experience. Strong knowledge of Azure networking, virtual machines, Azure SQL, Storage, Backup and Azure Monitor. Experience with Microsoft Entra ID, PowerShell, Azure CLI and Infrastructure as Code. Familiarity with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines and cloud automation. Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills. Azure certifications (AZ-104, AZ-305 or AZ-500) and experience within financial services industries will be advantageous. Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
