About the role We are looking for a Panel & Paint Prepper to join our busy workshop team. We value people who are organised, reliable, and take pride in their quality workmanship. In this role, you will prepare vehicle panels and surfaces for painting, ensuring all preparation duties are completed efficiently and to a high standard in accordance with daily production targets and company procedures. Key Responsibilities Prepare vehicle panels and surfaces for painting, including sanding, masking, cleaning, and priming. Carry out minor repairs, including repairing small dents and replacing worn or defective components where required. Remove surface imperfections to ensure panels are ready for paint application. Assist the Paint Team by preparing vehicles to maintain an efficient workflow. Complete work efficiently to meet daily production KPIs. Ensure consistent quality workmanship to minimise rework. Accurately record labour hours and materials used for each job. Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment in line with Health & Safety requirements. Use tools, equipment, PPE, and hazardous substances safely and in accordance with company procedures. Report any damage, incidents, or hazards promptly. Follow company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and participate in toolbox meetings. About you Previous experience in vehicle paint preparation or a similar automotive workshop role. Skilled in surface preparation, including sanding, masking, cleaning, and priming. Experience repairing minor dents and carrying out basic vehicle preparation work is advantageous. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to high-quality workmanship. Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and work as part of a team. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced workshop environment. A strong focus on Health & Safety practices. A current NZ driver's licence. NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa. Hours of Work 45 hours per week, from Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:30pm. Employees may be required to work on weekends and up to 52 hours per week.
