We are looking for a Production Manager who excels in operational excellence, standardized work systems, people leadership, and financial discipline. This role will play a critical part in building a scalable manufacturing organization capable of supporting SAND-M's next phase of growth. Position Summary: The Production Manager is responsible for leading daily manufacturing operations while developing a high-performance production culture focused on Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and People. The successful candidate will establish strong standardized work systems, develop frontline leaders, improve productivity, and manage manufacturing costs to support sustainable business growth. This role requires a leader who can balance operational discipline with people development and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Manufacturing Operations Leadership Lead daily production operations Ensure achievement of production plans and service levels Drive operational excellence across all production lines Monitor and improve productivity, efficiency, and output Ensure smooth coordination with Planning, QA, Warehouse, Engineering, and Supply Chain Standardized Work & Operational Excellence Establish and continuously improve standardized work practices Develop SOPs, Work Instructions, and Visual Management systems Implement Lean Manufacturing principles Reduce process variation and improve consistency Drive Kaizen and continuous improvement culture Build a daily management system with clear KPIs People Leadership & Capability Building Lead, coach, and develop production supervisors and operators Build strong frontline leadership capabilities Create a culture of accountability and ownership Improve employee engagement and retention Develop succession plans for critical production roles Establish training and skill certification programs Financial & Cost Management Manage labor productivity and labor costs Control manufacturing conversion costs Monitor material usage and waste reduction Improve production efficiency and asset utilization Support annual budgeting and cost improvement initiatives Deliver productivity savings and cost optimization projects Quality & Food Safety Ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP, and Food Safety requirements Maintain high product quality standards Drive Right-First-Time production performance Reduce quality defects, rework, and customer complaints Continuous Improvement Lead Lean Manufacturing projects Improve OEE and production performance Reduce losses across labor, materials, and time Implement best practices and operational benchmarks Support automation readiness and future manufacturing expansion Qualifications Education Bachelor's Degree or higher in Industrial Engineering, Food Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering Experience 8–15 years manufacturing experience Minimum 3–5 years managing production teams Experience in FMCG, Food, Beverage, Pharmaceutical, or Consumer Products industries Proven experience managing large production teams Strong exposure to Lean Manufacturing and Operational Excellence programs Preferred Experience TPM Lean Manufacturing Daily Management Systems Visual Management Performance Management Cost Improvement Programs Capacity Expansion Projects Leadership Attributes We are looking for someone who: Leads through people, not position Builds strong systems rather than relying on heroics Believes in standardized work and process discipline Develops future leaders Understands manufacturing economics Uses data to drive decisions Embraces change and continuous improvement Balances operational discipline with coaching leadership Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Safety Zero Lost Time Accidents Safety compliance performance Delivery Production plan attainment % On-time order fulfillment % Productivity OEE improvement Output per labor hour Throughput improvement Quality Right First Time % Defect reduction % Customer complaint reduction % Cost Manufacturing conversion cost Labor productivity Waste reduction % Yield improvement % People Employee turnover % Training completion % Internal promotion rate Employee engagement score What Success Looks Like First 6 Months Stabilize & Standardize Understand all manufacturing processes and key bottlenecks Build strong relationships with Production, QA, Planning, Engineering, and Leadership Team Assess current production systems and workforce capability Establish daily management routines and KPI reviews Standardize critical operating procedures Improve production discipline and accountability Early Wins Improve schedule adherence Reduce recurring operational issues Increase labor productivity Strengthen frontline supervisor performance 12 Months Build a High-Performance Manufacturing Organization Production runs predictably with strong daily management Supervisors effectively lead without excessive escalation Standardized work is embedded across operations OEE and productivity significantly improved Manufacturing costs reduced through efficiency gains Employee engagement and retention improved Strong leadership pipeline established Be Recognized Internally As "The leader who transformed production from managing daily firefighting into a disciplined, scalable, and people-driven manufacturing system."
