Part-Time Bookkeeper / Accounts Administrator

About the role Working closely with the Napier office team, you'll manage day-to-day financial operations across both businesses, supporting the finance function for Kooga NZ Limited (multi-sport performance apparel) and FIRST72 (community emergency preparedness). Both businesses import internationally and source a wide range of products locally, so accurate stock and margin management is central to this role. Key responsibilities Purchase ordering and receipting of stock (international imports and local sourcing) Accounts receivable and accounts payable Invoicing and margin management Payroll processing GST return preparation and filing Monthly financial reporting Reconciliations and general ledger maintenance Adhering to and maintaining system procedures across platforms Supporting month-end and ad hoc reporting requests About you Tertiary qualification in accounting, finance, or a related field (essential) Minimum 3 years' hands-on experience with Xero and Unleashed (essential) Excellent verbal and written communication skills (essential) Experience with purchase ordering, receipting, and margin management Experience processing payroll (Xero Payroll or similar) Solid understanding of GST and standard NZ bookkeeping practices Strong accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to follow defined system procedures Ability to work independently and manage priorities across two businesses About us We are two established New Zealand companies — Kooga NZ Limited (multi-sport performance apparel) and FIRST72 (community emergency preparedness).
