Transport Engineering and Repairs (TER) is part of the Gleeson Group, a New Zealand owned business that has been operating in the infrastructure and roading industry for more than 50 years. About the Role We are looking for an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our team based at Transport & Engineering Repairs (TER) workshop in Wiri. As part of our workshop team, you will work on the maintenance and repair of our own fleet, as well as a variety of external customer trucks, trailers and heavy equipment. This provides plenty of variety and the opportunity to work across different makes, models and types of heavy equipment. This will suit someone with strong heavy diesel mechanical skills. You must be fully qualified and have strong experience in this industry or similar to apply. Key Responsibilities Fleet maintenance, servicing, repairs and mechanical diagnostics Use diagnostic equipment to identify and repair mechanical and ABS faults General fault finding, troubleshooting and problem solving Carry out regular servicing and COF repairs Preventative maintenance of trucks, trailers and heavy machinery Work independently while also contributing effectively to a close knit team Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality and compliance Skills & Experience Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar heavy diesel mechanical role Relevant NZ trade qualification Strong heavy fleet maintenance and repair experience Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills Excellent organisation and time management skills A Class 5 licence would be an advantage Demonstrate a strong commitment to workplace Health and Safety practices Flexibility to work 6 days per week Able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test What We’re Looking For To be successful in this role, you will: Have a positive attitude and work well with others Have excellent communication skills Be legally entitled to work in New Zealand What We Offer Competitive hourly rate Staff fuel discounts and EAP services A close knit and supportive team A stable role with an established New Zealand transport company If you are a qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic with the skills and experience, we are looking for, we would love to hear from you!
