About the Role This is a hands-on position combining truck driving with operating specialised hydro excavation and vacuum equipment. Your primary responsibility will be carrying out stormwater sump cleaning throughout the Queenstown Lakes district while operating a modern Class 4 hydro hydro truck. You'll also assist with hydro excavation and other vacuum truck work if experience and as required. Key Responsibilities Operate a Class 4 hydro. Carry out stormwater sump cleaning. Complete hydro excavation works. Transport and dispose of collected material. Maintain accurate job records and GIS information. Assist with other hydro excavation and vacuum truck work as required. Complete daily vehicle and equipment inspections. Work safely around live services, traffic and the public. Follow all health and safety procedures and company policies. What We Offer $42–$45 per hour (depending on experience) Guaranteed 45–50 hours per week Monday to Friday work Approximately two weeks of night shift during the contract, paid at time and a half Subsidised accommodation Relocation assistance available Six-month fixed-term contract Opportunity for a permanent position for the right person What You'll Need Full New Zealand Class 4 licence (or the ability to convert an equivalent licence) Previous hydro vac, vacuum truck, drainage or civil construction experience preferred Strong work ethic and positive attitude Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks Ability to work safely within a team Good communication skills Ability to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
