Motorworks Hawkes Bay Ltd is a one-stop shop for all Heavy Diesel and construction equipment repair needs. We’re now on the lookout for an experienced Field Service Mechanic to join our team and take care of servicing, repairs, and maintenance of heavy machinery, vehicles, and equipment – both in the workshop and out in the field. About the role As a Field Service Mechanic, you’ll be servicing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles and equipment for both our clients and our own fleet. You’ll be based in our Napier workshop but will often be out on the road doing field service work – so a practical, can-do attitude and good customer skills are essential. The standard work hours for this role are 7:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday (45 hours per week), with some Saturday work required. You'll also be part of the after-hours callout roster, and work overtime when required – we offer time and a half after 8 hours per day and on weekends. What you’ll do: · Service and repair vehicles in the workshop and on-site · Record all work clearly – labour, parts, and time · Diagnose and fix faults efficiently and to a high standard · Follow health and safety procedures · Communicate clearly and respectfully with clients and colleagues · Support process improvements and help build a strong team culture What you’ll bring: · Solid experience in mechanical servicing and repair (automotive, forklift, or similar) · Class 2 Driver’s Licence · Strong problem-solving and communication skills · Physically fit and safety conscious · Tidy, professional presentation and a good sense of humour What we offer: · Competitive pay + overtime (time and a half after 8 hrs and weekends) · Company Ute supplied · Southern Cross Health Insurance after 3 months · Supportive team that values your contribution · Ongoing training and development Keen to be part of a trusted, locally owned business where your skills really count?
