Health & Safety Cadet

About the role As a Health & Safety Cadet, you'll gain exposure to every aspect of construction health and safety while supporting multiple projects. You'll learn how health and safety is integrated from project planning through to completion and work closely with experienced professionals who are committed to helping you develop your career. Key responsibilities Assisting with site inspections and safety observations Supporting hazard identification and risk assessments Helping prepare and maintain Health & Safety documentation Assisting with site inductions and toolbox meetings Supporting incident and near-miss reporting and investigations Monitoring corrective actions and following up outstanding items Assist with subcontractor prequalification and compliance Maintaining training records and compliance registers Promoting positive safety behaviours across our project teams Supporting continuous improvement of our Health & Safety systems About you A recently completed New Zealand qualification in Health & Safety, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related discipline A genuine interest in commercial construction Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong organisation and attention to detail Confidence using Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and Powerpoint A full New Zealand Driver Licence The ability to build positive relationships with people at every level of the business A proactive attitude and willingness to spend time both on-site and in the office About us Kiwi Group is the parent company of Kiwi Roofing Limited and Insulated Panel Systems Limited, delivering specialist roofing, cladding and insulated panel solutions on commercial and industrial projects throughout New Zealand.
