Acting Coach & LAMDA Coordinator Start Immediately Position Summary The Drama & LAMDA Coordinator plays a vital role in the life of the Performing Arts faculty, supporting drama teaching across the school, leading and running the LAMDA (London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art) examination programme for pupils, and delivering co-curricular drama activities. Working closely with the Drama teaching team, this role offers an exciting opportunity for a talented and enthusiastic individual to develop their directing and coaching skills within a high-achieving international school environment. This role is particularly well suited to a Thai national who has graduated from a drama school or performing arts college and wishes to grow their professional practice in a supportive and ambitious setting. Key Responsibilities LAMDA Examinations Programme Coordinate and deliver the school's LAMDA examination programme, managing pupil preparation, scheduling, entry administration, and communication with LAMDA examiners. Teach individual and small-group LAMDA examination sessions, preparing pupils for Speaking in Public, Acting, and Communication grades as appropriate. Monitor pupil progress and maintain accurate records of examination entries, results, and certification. Liaise with parents, teachers, and the LAMDA examination board regarding pupil entries, timetabling, and outcomes. Stay up to date with LAMDA syllabus requirements, mark schemes, and examination regulations. Co-Curricular Drama Activities (CCA) Plan, organise, and lead drama-based co-curricular activities (CCAs) for pupils across different year groups, including acting workshops, improvisation, devising, and performance projects. Develop an engaging and inclusive CCA programme that nurtures creativity, confidence, and ensemble skills in pupils of all abilities. Manage CCA registers, student progress tracking, and communication with the CCA coordinator. Drama Department Support Assist Drama teachers in the classroom with lesson delivery, group activities, and practical drama exercises at both junior and senior school levels. Assist Drama and Dance with administrative tasks such as trips, schedules, and communication with parents. Support the direction and staging of Drama department productions, providing rehearsal assistance and working with student performers on characterisation, voice, and movement. Help coordinate and manage school drama productions, including rehearsal scheduling, script distribution, blocking notes, and backstage organisation during performances. Contribute to the delivery of curriculum drama at GCSE and other levels as directed by the Head of Drama. Assist with inter-school drama events, Drama festivals, and performance opportunities that arise throughout the academic year. General Performing Arts Support Collaborate positively with colleagues across Music, Drama, and Dance to support the wider Performing Arts faculty. Act as a positive role model and creative mentor to pupils, inspiring a love of performance and the dramatic arts. Attend productions, performances, and Performing Arts events as required, including some evenings. Job Qualifications A degree or diploma from a recognised drama school, theatre college, or performing arts conservatoire. Experience in acting, directing, or drama teaching — professionally or in an educational context. Experience with or knowledge of the LAMDA examination syllabus is highly desirable; full training can be provided for the right candidate. Strong spoken English is essential; excellent spoken English with the ability to model clear, expressive speech for pupils is expected. Experience working with children or young people in a drama, coaching, or teaching capacity. A genuine passion for drama education and a commitment to nurturing confidence and creativity in young performers. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive, professional relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues. Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage examination schedules, rehearsals, and CCA programmes simultaneously. Thai nationals who have trained at a drama school or performing arts institute are strongly encouraged to apply.
