Responsibilities: Project Development & Origination Identify and originate power project opportunities through both organic (expand or value enhancement from current assets) and inorganic channels (Green field, M&A, JVs, etc). Lead early-stage development activities: site assessment, partner identification, project structuring, and regulatory engagement. Conduct rigorous project screening and feasibility assessments across technical, commercial, regulatory, and financial dimensions. Define risk profiles, propose mitigation strategies, and drive projects through internal approval processes in line with company procedures. Project Execution & Delivery Drive project development from concept to financial close, coordinating internal teams and external advisors across legal, technical, and commercial workstreams. Lead or support bid preparation, contract negotiations, and deal structuring (PPA, EPC, fuel supply, and financing agreements). Facilitate cross-functional alignment and consolidate inputs into cohesive, decision-ready proposals for senior leadership. Ensure all projects are structured in line with corporate strategy, risk appetite, and return thresholds. Strategic Investments & M&A Source and evaluate strategic investment and M&A opportunities within the power and energy sector. Engage and manage external advisors for feasibility studies and due diligence activities. Lead or support end-to-end due diligence, working with legal, financial, and technical advisors and internal stakeholders. Drive deal structuring, valuation, and negotiations to secure value-accretive investments alignedwith the company’s strategic objectives. Financial Analysis & Modeling Build and maintain robust financial models for project evaluation, investment decisions, and portfolio optimization. Perform sensitivity analyses, scenario modeling, and risk assessments to underpin investment recommendations. Project Scheduling & Timeline Management Develop and maintain detailed project schedules covering all development phases — from feasibility and permitting through to financing and financial close. Identify critical-path activities and proactively manage interdependencies across internal teams, external advisors, and regulatory bodies. Monitor milestone progress, flag delays early, and drive corrective actions to keep projects on track. Establish clear timelines and accountability frameworks for all workstreams, ensuring alignment with investment committee deadlines and contractual obligations. Stakeholder Management & Reporting Collaborate effectively with internal functions (technical, legal, finance) and external stakeholders (partners, regulators, advisors, government agencies). Build and sustain high-value relationships with developers, off-takers, lenders, and strategic partners across target markets. Prepare clear, well-structured investment proposals and presentations for senior management and investment committees. Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Economics, or Business Administration. Master’s degree (MBA or equivalent) is an advantage. Minimum 9–12 years of experience in the power sector, with strong exposure to: End-to-end power plant project development (origination through commercial operation) Business development, strategic investments, or corporate development Proven track record in greenfield project development from origination to financial close is highly preferred. Experience in M&A transactions or joint ventures within the power sector is an advantage.
