Zenitec, Home of Clogger, is a proudly New Zealand-owned company specialising in innovative industrial safety clothing. We’re on a mission to make life easier and safer for chainsaw users around the world. We’re looking for a practical Maintenance Technician to help keep our plant, equipment and facilities running smoothly and support our operations. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this is a part‑time role based in Invercargill, starting at 20–25 hours per week, with flexibility to increase over time as the role develops. What You’ll Do Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across machinery, tools, equipment and site facilities Troubleshoot faults, identify practical solutions and complete minor repairs safely and efficiently Support preventative maintenance schedules so equipment remains reliable and production downtime is minimised Ensure all work complies with health and safety standards Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, checks, repairs and parts used Coordinate with external contractors or suppliers when specialist support is required Help maintain a tidy, safe, and well‑organised working environment Contribute practical, creative ideas for improving reliability, safety, and efficiency across the site — whether through mechanical fixes, simple electronic solutions, or inventive workarounds. You Will Have Hands‑on maintenance, mechanical, engineering, trade or workshop experience — formal qualifications are helpful but NOT ESSENTIAL The right attitude — be someone who enjoys getting stuck in, trying new things and learning by solving real problems A curious mindset and genuine interest in understanding how things work Confidence using a range of tools, equipment, and machinery, and a willingness to try new things safely A practical, creative approach to trouble shooting and problem-solving A strong focus on health and safety A high level of accuracy and attention to detail – a ‘do it once and do it right’ approach Reliability, initiative, and the ability to work independently as well as with the wider team Good communication skills, including the ability to keep accurate and detailed notes.
