Key responsibilities Design and develop telecommunication systems for offshore and onshore facilities, including Fiber Optic, Satellite, VSAT, Microwave, WiMax, 4G/5G, Weather Monitoring, AIS, Digital Trunked Radio, MF/HF SSB, CCTV, PAGA, RACON, LAN/WAN/WLAN, Firewall, IP Telephone, and related communication systems. Prepare and review telecommunication engineering deliverables such as Telecom Philosophy, System Block Diagrams, Equipment Specifications, Equipment Lists, Interface Documents, Cable Routing Drawings, Material Take-Off (MTO), and other project documentation. Perform telecommunication system design calculations and ensure compliance with project specifications and applicable international standards. Select equipment suitable for hazardous areas in accordance with hazardous area classifications and applicable Ex requirements. Participate in technical clarification meetings, technical bid evaluations, vendor document reviews, and procurement support. Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, clients, vendors, and construction teams throughout project execution. Conduct site surveys and assessments for brownfield modifications, upgrades, and new installations. Prepare construction work scopes and provide engineering support during construction activities. Participate in and supervise Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), pre-commissioning, commissioning, troubleshooting, and system handover. Ensure compliance with international standards, including IEC, ITU, SOLAS, ICAO, CAP 437, and client engineering specifications. Support cybersecurity assessments for telecommunication systems integrated with OT/IT networks. Provide technical support throughout engineering, construction, commissioning, and project close-out. For Senior-level positions, provide technical leadership, mentor junior engineers, review engineering deliverables, and lead multidisciplinary coordination activities. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Telecommunication Engineering. Telecommunication Engineer: 5+ years of experience. Senior Telecommunication Engineer: 10+ years of experience. Experience in Oil & Gas (Petrochemical experience is also welcome). Experience in at least 3 Brownfield/Modification Projects. Strong knowledge of telecom systems such as Fiber Optic, VSAT, Satellite, Microwave, 4G/5G, WiMax, CCTV, PAGA, IP Phone, LAN/WAN/WLAN, Radio Communication, Firewall, Weather Monitoring, AIS, and related systems. Experienced in telecom engineering design, technical documents, equipment specifications, cable routing, FAT/SAT, commissioning, and construction support. Familiar with hazardous area equipment selection, technical bid evaluation, and material take-off. Able to conduct site surveys and ensure compliance with international standards (IEC, ITU, ICAO, CAP 437, etc.). Experience in construction, commissioning, and OT/IT telecom cybersecurity is an advantage.

Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
