STEM Technician (Primary)

Position Overview The STEM Technician supports the delivery of engaging, hands-on learning experiences across STEM, Robotics, and Art within the Primary Years Programme (PYP). The role involves assisting teachers during lessons, preparing learning materials, maintaining specialist learning spaces, and supporting students to ensure a positive and effective learning environment. Key Responsibilities 1. Classroom Support Assist teachers during STEM, Robotics, and Art lessons as scheduled (approximately five lessons per day). Provide hands-on support to students during classroom activities and projects. Promote a safe, organized, and engaging learning environment. 2. Lesson Preparation and Resource Management Prepare materials, equipment, and resources required for STEM, Robotics, and Art lessons. Manage inventory and maintain adequate supplies for specialist classrooms. Coordinate the ordering of materials through the SWIS system for: Art (Grades 1–2) Robotics STEM within the Primary Years Programme (PYP) 3. Literacy Support Provide classroom support for Literacy lessons between 7:45 AM and 8:30 AM , based on student and teacher needs. 4. Learning Space Management Ensure the Art and STEM classrooms are clean, organized, and ready for instruction each day. Maintain equipment and learning resources in good working condition and report any maintenance requirements. Qualifications and Skills Experience in, or a strong interest in, STEM, Robotics, or Art. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and support diverse student learning needs. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. A proactive attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Enthusiasm for supporting hands-on learning and fostering creativity, curiosity, and problem-solving in students. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience working in a school or educational environment. Familiarity with robotics equipment, makerspace tools, or STEM resources is an advantage. Experience supporting primary-aged students is preferred.
