• Sourcing, evaluating, and selecting suppliers for fabric, trims, accessories, linings, and packaging materials used in client garment orders, in coordination with Design and Production requirements • Preparing and maintaining detailed Bill of Materials (BOM) costing for each order/style • Negotiating unit pricing, minimum order quantities (MOQ), payment terms, and lead times with material suppliers • Monitoring and controlling material costs against approved order budgets, flagging and resolving cost overruns • Identifying and qualifying alternative or backup material suppliers to reduce sourcing risk and improve cost competitiveness • Tracking raw material market price trends relevant to garment production (e.g. cotton, polyester, trims) and advising management on cost impact and purchase timing • Issuing and managing purchase orders for sourced materials, coordinating delivery timing with Production’s manufacturing schedule • Sourcing and procuring sample fabrics/trims for product development and internal approval • Verifying incoming materials conform to specifications and quality requirements set by Production/Design prior to release for manufacturing • Conducting cost variance analysis by order/style and reporting material cost performance to senior management • Reviewing material specifications with Design and Production to identify cost-saving substitutions without compromising quality • Maintaining an organized supplier database covering pricing, capabilities, and lead times • Providing internal costing data to Business Development to support client quotation preparation • Supervising and mentoring the merchandising team in sourcing execution and cost tracking Entry requirements: • Minimum 10 years’ experience in garment production and merchandising • Demonstrated experience in fabric, trim, and accessory sourcing, supplier negotiation, and cost control • Hands-on experience preparing and managing Bill of Materials (BOM) costing • Experience working with mainland China textile/garment supply chains an advantage • Solid working knowledge of garment/textile production processes and material specifications • Proficient in costing analysis, budget tracking, and cost variance reporting
