The Sales Engineer (Biomass/Renewable Energy) is responsible for driving sales and business development of biomass-based energy solutions, including boilers, power plants, and fuel supply systems. This role combines technical expertise with commercial acumen to deliver tailored solutions to industrial and utility clients. BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT & SALES Identify and develop new business opportunities in biomass energy (industrial clients, plantations, utilities, etc.) Generate leads, conduct client meetings, and manage the full sales cycle. Prepare and deliver technical-commercial proposals. Achieve sales targets and revenue growth. TECHNICAL SUPPORT & SOLUTION DESIGN Understand client energy needs and propose suitable biomass solutions (e.g., boilers, CHP systems) Conduct feasibility studies and preliminary system sizing. Work closely with engineering teams to customize solutions. Provide technical presentations and product demonstrations. CLIENT RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders. Act as the technical advisor during negotiations and project discussions. Ensure high customer satisfaction and repeat business. MARKET INTELLIGENCE Monitor industry trends in biomass, renewable energy, and sustainability. Analyse competitors and identify market gaps. Provide feedback to management on product improvements and opportunities. PROJECT COORDINATION Support project handover to engineering and execution teams. Ensure alignment between client requirements and project delivery. Assist in troubleshooting during installation/commissioning (if required). OTHERS Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the line manager from time to time. Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Energy, or related field). Experience in Southeast Asia biomass market (especially palm oil industry). Familiarity with sustainability standards (e.g., ESG, carbon credits). 3 - 4 years in technical sales, preferably in: a) Biomass / renewable energy b) Boilers / thermal systems c) Power generation or industrial utilities Experience with EPC or energy project sales. Ability to speak Mandarin is preferred to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients/stakeholders. Knowledge of biomass fuels (e.g., palm kernel shell, wood chips, EFB). Understanding of combustion systems, steam systems, or power plants. Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
