Job Responsibilities DNS & Name Server Engineering (~80%, remote + on-site) · Administer and maintain DNS name server infrastructure across hidden master, authoritative slave, and caching resolver roles in a multi-datacenter topology. · Manage zone files, NOTIFY/IXFR configuration, and Response Policy Zones (RPZ) for malicious-domain blocking. · Tune recursive resolver ACLs, rate-limiting (RRL), and cache behavior to protect against abuse, amplification, and DDoS. · Validate configuration changes safely (named-checkconf, named-checkzone) and roll out changes via controlled, auditable procedures. · Monitor DNS service health, query patterns, and latency via Grafana, InfluxDB, and Telegraf; build and refine alerting and dashboards for DNS-specific KPIs. · Troubleshoot DNS resolution issues, propagation delays, and zone transfer failures across the DC footprint. · Maintain documentation for DNS architecture, security posture, and disaster-recovery / failover procedures (including Anycast/BGP-fronted designs). · Track DNS server software version releases and CVEs, and plan timely, low-risk patching across the fleet. Video CDN Operations (~20%, on-site) · Provide daytime on-site support, on request, at the customer office building in Saphan Khwai, Bangkok. · Respond to and troubleshoot CDN incidents (Nginx, Varnish), backend health failures, cache/proxy errors, connection-tracking exhaustion, and related outages. · Support routine CDN fleet operations: applying configuration changes via Ansible, verifying deployments, and coordinating with the CI/CD pipeline (GitLab CI). · Assist with monitoring and triage of edge server health via Zabbix, including file-descriptor limits, connection states, and log-based error scanning. · Escalate and document incidents clearly, feeding recurring issues back into automation and monitoring improvements. Job Requirements Technical Skills · 3–5 years of hands-on experience administering DNS name server software (authoritative and recursive) in a production environment. · Solid understanding of DNS fundamentals: zone architecture, record types, DNSSEC, zone transfers (AXFR/IXFR), TSIG, and recursive vs. authoritative roles. · Strong TCP/IP networking knowledge (routing, subnetting, VLANs, DNS/DHCP, TCP/UDP behavior) — CCNA-level understanding or equivalent. · Working Linux systems administration skills (Ubuntu and/or CentOS/RHEL family). · Familiarity with Nginx and/or Varnish in a CDN or reverse-proxy context. · Knowledge of monitoring and observability tooling such as Zabbix, Grafana, InfluxDB, and Telegraf (metrics collection, dashboards, and alerting). · Basic knowledge of scripting (Bash and/or Python) for operational and automation tasks. · Basic understanding of ITIL workflows (incident, change, and problem management). · AI collaboration skills — able to work effectively with AI assistants (e.g. for scripting, troubleshooting, config generation, and documentation) while critically reviewing and validating output before production use. · Willingness to work on-site periodically at data center locations, including outside standard hours for incident response. · Good written and spoken English for documentation; Thai fluency for local team collaboration. Soft Skills Good communication skills for effective collaboration and escalation. Strong documentation skills with attention to detail. Ability to work independently with a proactive attitude in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience supporting DNS name server platforms. Experience with Ansible for configuration management and GitLab CI/CD for automated deployment. Exposure to Anycast/BGP-based DNS or CDN failover architectures. Experience with ISP-scale or telecom network operations. Knowledge of F5 for DNS caching and server load balancing. CCNA (or equivalent) networking certification held or in progress.
