About the role Reporting to the Civil Contracts Manager, you'll play an important part in ensuring our projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard. This is a varied role that combines office coordination with hands-on site support. No two days are the same. One day you could be assisting with planning works, coordinating crews and materials, and completing project administration, while the next you're on-site supporting the team with installations, inspections or emergency works. You may be required to work evenings or weekends as operationally required. Key responsibilities Assisting with the planning and coordination of civil and signs projects Supporting field crews with day-to-day operations and site activities Carrying out site visits, inspections and project scoping Assisting with sign and barrier installations, maintenance and repairs Coordinating plant, equipment and materials Completing job documentation, reports, scheduling updates and purchase orders Monitoring project progress and communicating with management Liaising professionally with customers and stakeholders Promoting a strong health and safety culture across all activities Supporting quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives About you Experience in the roading industry, mechanical, building or fabrication trades Excellent communication and organisational skills The ability to work confidently both independently and within a team Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude Basic computer skills and the ability to learn company systems A commitment to health, safety and quality A full, clean New Zealand driver's licence Class 2 vehicle licence (advantageous) Experience working in the road corridor or around traffic management operations (advantageous) About us Combined Road & Traffic Services Ltd is contracted throughout the central North Island providing traffic services, vegetation control, minor civil works and road marking functions to NZTA and local authorities.
