About the Role Astrodyne TDI is looking for a proactive and results-driven Senior IT Engineer to join our operations team in Penang. In this role, you will oversee our regional IT infrastructure, ensuring maximum network reliability, system security, and business continuity. You will balance hands-on technical support with strategic improvements by leading workplace automation initiatives using the Microsoft 365 suite and PowerShell scripting. Additionally, you will manage our cloud-based networks, oversee IT asset governance and ISO compliance, and collaborate with multi-site teams and external vendors to support a seamless manufacturing environment. Duties and Responsibilities 1. Level 1/2/3 Technical Support & Infrastructure Provide advanced (L1/L2/L3) IT support for hardware, software, network, printers, and enterprise applications, ensuring timely resolution of complex technical issues Install, configure, optimize, and maintain company desktops, laptops, servers, and standard office applications. Supervise and manage user access, including Active Directory (AD), email accounts (Google Workspace), and system permissions. Manage and maintain cloud-managed network infrastructure using Cisco Meraki (Firewalls, Switches, and Access Points). 2. IT Automation & Digital Support Design, develop, and maintain workflow automations and internal applications using Microsoft 365 suite (Power Automate, Power Apps, and Power BI for reporting). Utilize PowerShell and scripting languages to automate routine administrative tasks and system deployments. Provide technical assistance for company digital platforms, including basic support for official social media accounts or communication channels. 3. IT Asset, Vendor & Compliance Management Establish and maintain an accurate IT inventory, asset tracking system, software licenses, and stock levels for IT accessories. Coordinate with external vendors for hardware procurement, maintenance contracts, repairs, and service level agreements (SLA). Prepare and maintain comprehensive IT documentations, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and assist in ISO audits and compliance activities. 4. System Security & Infrastructure Reliability Monitor and manage system backups, endpoint protection (antivirus), and execute basic cybersecurity hardening/patching. Monitor network connectivity and infrastructure health to ensure business continuity. Perform any other IT-related duties and projects as assigned by management. Job Specifications Degree/Diploma in IT, Computer Science, or a related discipline. 4-5 years of working experience in IT support, systems administration, or network management. Strong proficiency in Active Directory (AD), GPO, and Windows Server administration. Hands-on experience with Cisco Meraki dashboard and networking solutions (LAN/WAN, VPN, Firewall, Switches). Proven experience in developing workflows and solutions using Microsoft 365 (Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI). Proficient in PowerShell scripting for system automation. Strong problem-solving skills, able to work independently, and good communication skills to handle multi-site coordination. Advantages / Nice-to-Have Knowledge or hands-on experience in PHP/Laravel framework for internal system support/development. Experience with other scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) or database management.
