About the role We are seeking an experienced NZ registered Industrial Electrician, to join the team at EPD Canterbury on a full-time basis . Based in Rolleston, Canterbury , this role is central to maintaining and supporting our existing clients in the Manufacturing, F&B and Service Industries in NZ and AUS. As an Industrial Electrician, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient operation of complex electrical infrastructure that supports our operations. This is a hands-on position that requires both technical expertise and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship. You will work as part of our Project Team, installing new equipment for Large End Users and you will work by yourself on small installations and breakdowns. Key responsibilities Install, maintain, and repair industrial electrical systems, machinery, and equipment; Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on electrical installations to identify potential faults and safety hazards; Troubleshoot electrical problems using diagnostic tools and techniques to minimise downtime Respond promptly to electrical breakdowns and emergency repairs; Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints to carry out work accurately; Ensure all work complies with relevant electrical codes, regulations, and health and safety standards; Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance; Collaborate with other tradespeople and operational staff to ensure safe and efficient site operations; Perform testing and certification of electrical installations as required; What we're looking for Relevant New Zealand electrical trade qualification, with proven experience working as an electrician in an industrial or manufacturing environment; Strong knowledge of electrical systems, circuit design, and industrial machinery; Proficiency in using electrical testing and diagnostic equipment; Understanding of electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards relevant to industrial settings; Valid driving licence and willingness to travel locally, as well as work away for varying periods of time around New Zealand and Australia when required; Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team A commitment to health and safety practices and continuous professional development Preferred: experience with VSD's, PLC's and other industrial automation systems and instruments; What we offer EPD Canterbury is committed to supporting the wellbeing and career development of our team.
