About the Role The Business Manager provides operational leadership across finance, administration and facilities. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer this role ensures high-quality early years services are supported by sound business management, strong organisational systems and sustainable operations. Accounting system management ? including posting of transactions, reconciliations, and preparation of monthly work papers Provide operational leadership across administration, finance and facilities to ensure efficient, well-coordinated and responsive business operations. Cash flow management Preparation of clear and accurate month end accounting and reporting. Development of the annual budgets for our kindergarten services. Assist with the preparation and reporting of all statutory returns Management and administration of financial management systems, including accounting systems, payroll systems and banking management systems Assist with year-end audit, including preparation with year end work papers and liaising with external auditors. Provide financial support and coaching to all shine bright staff Assist with Accounts payable, payroll process and support the CFO in the management of finance functions as required. Build strong systems, processes and a positive organisational culture that enable staff to work effectively and support Shine Bright EYM?s goals Ensure organisational wide compliance with Shine Bright financial management policies and procedures Act as the Chief Financial Officer as required. About You As an experienced Business Manager, you will value strong working relationships and partnerships. With a passion for working in a collaborative environment, you will be able to demonstrate your professionalism and showcase your excellent attention to detail and ability to multitask and lead a team. Key Selection Criteria Tertiary qualification in Accounting and / or Business with experience in a similar position Proven leadership experience in business, finance or operations within education, not-for-profit or comparable organisations. Demonstrated experience in financial and operational practice, accurate ethical decision making, sound judgement and compliance with organisational policies and procedures. High level written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to provide clear financial and operational information, explain processes and systems, prepare reporting for leaders and governance bodies and communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders Demonstrated curiosity and commitment to continuous improvement with the ability to question, review and strengthen financial, administrative and operational processes and systems Confidence to raise concerns, identify risks, address issues early, solve problems and provide practical evidence-informed recommendations in a professional and constructive manner. Ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, work autonomously, support administration, finance and facilities functions and take responsibility for delivering high quality outcomes High level of proficiency and competency across accounting packages and the Microsoft suite.
